Situated right on the bank of the river at Mixtow, Creekside House is an
individual and unique property. Facing south it enjoys the sun
throughout the day and has excellent views down the main river to Fowey and
across the creek to the countryside beyond. It has recently been refurbished
and provides very comfortable and spacious accommodation.
The house is arranged “upside down” with the living rooms upstairs. There are five bedrooms, four of which are downstairs and one upstairs. On the ground floor, there is a master bedroom with original splayed bay window to the terrace and views of the creek. It has a six foot double bed, adjoining dressing room and en-suite shower room, a second double bedroom with five foot double bed, a children’s bedroom with two full size bunks and an additional single bed and a further large bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. This room has a vanity unit and French doors leading to the garden. Also on the ground floor is a family bathroom with bath (with shower over), washbasin and lavatory.
Upstairs, there is a further double bedroom with a five foot bed and a shower room with washbasin and lavatory.
There is a spacious living room with full length sliding windows 16 feet wide giving excellent views over the water and opening onto a balcony. The living room has a range of comfortable seating and a large dining table. A flat screen television, DVD player and CD/radio are supplied. The kitchen has super river views and is fully equipped with an electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge, freezer, large larder fridge, microwave/combi oven and dishwasher. Also in the kitchen there is a further table and chairs and extra television. There is a separate utility room with a washer/dryer.
A telephone is provided for incoming calls only.
Outside there is a large garden with a terrace at the front of the house which overlooks the river, a sheltered lawn with seating area and barbecue and parking for four cars. At the top of the garden is a dining area with large table and chairs with good views across the garden and down the river. From the property, steps lead down to a small stone quay where a boat up to sixteen feet may be kept. Boats may also be hired at this property. Please ask for details when booking as availability is limited.
Creekside has oil fired central heating. The cost of electricity and heating is included in the rent. All bed linen will be supplied. A cot and highchair are available if required.
Fowey is less than a mile by boat or two miles by road via the Bodinnick Ferry. The nearest pub is the Old Ferry Inn at Bodinnick.
