This
property has its roots in the late eighteenth century when the massive
stone walls were built for an anchor foundry. Some hundred or so years
ago, its commercial use ceased and the property is now a character four
bedroom house which has recently been extensively refurbished.
The Old
Foundry is close to the harbour, village shops and pubs and also has a
large walled garden with views over the harbour from the upper side. The garden is mainly grass and is ideal for children. Fowey is easily
accessed using the passenger ferry and the coast path and Hall Walk are
within 300 yards.
Entering at the garden level, there is a large open plan living room
with two windows overlooking the harbour and a third looking onto the
garden. This has a range of comfortable seating, dining area, HD flat
screen television with Freeview, DVD and CD player. The kitchen area is
well-equipped with electric eye-level double oven and hob, fridge
freezer, microwave and dishwasher. A washing machine is also
provided. Also on this floor is a bedroom with
two single beds and a shower room with shower, lavatory and washbasin.
Downstairs there are three further bedrooms and a family bathroom. One
bedroom has a kingsize bed and harbour views, one has a double bed and
harbour views and the other bedroom has two single beds. The bathroom
has a bath (with electric shower over), lavatory and washbasin.
Heating
is provided by night storage heaters and all electricity is included in
the rent. Bed linen is supplied. A travel cot and highchair are available if
required.
Unloading is possible within 50 yards of the property. Car parking is
available in the village car park about 400 yards away. Because The Old
Foundry is approached by steps it may not be suitable for some visitors.
A
dinghy can be hired at this property. Please ask for details when
booking as availability is limited.
We regret pets are not allowed at this property.
