Lerryn

Lerryn is a beautiful un-spoilt village at the tidal limit of one of the creeks of the River Fowey. It is said to have some of the loveliest river scenery in Cornwall. The vista changes constantly with the tide and the tranquility is disturbed only by the birds and the occasional boat. The ducks are so tame they can be fed from the hand.

The sixteenth century bridge crosses the river just upstream from the stepping stones which provide an alternative crossing at low tide. From the stepping stones, a path leads to a beautiful walk through the National Trust's Ethy Wood and on to St Winnow - a tiny riverside hamlet with a lovely waterside church.  Within Lerryn, there is a general store and post office. The Ship Inn is the popular village pub which serves good food.
